MISTIC Innovation Showcase Tradeshow

NOTE: The 2nd MISTIC Innovation Showcase Tradeshow will be held during National Technology Week 2011.

The 2009 MISTIC Innovation Showcase attendees, investors, and exhibitors networked with the business representatives and were educated on the products and services that are designed, developed and manufactured right here on Vancouver Island, as well as promoting to buy BC.

The keynote address was presented by Jim Pettinger, President, International Market Access, which covered doing business with the new US administration. This was followed by presentations to assist business growth and development, and expansion into new markets.

Topics included how to do business with the Canadian government; doing business in Asia; clean technology commercialization; marketing and branding; National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program; Trade Commission Service; tax rebates for Scientific Research and Experimental Development; risk management and export finance; Aboriginal business relations; and building a new university culture for the mid-island region.
